The Role

  • Shuttle containers and chassis to and from track within a private rail yard
  • Inspect containers and chassis for damage, report accordingly
  • Carry out Cage Truck duties as needed:
  • Installing and removing IBCs (inter box connectors) from railcar 
  • Unlocking/locking containers
  • Driving ¾ tonne truck in tight areas
  • Update inventory in our specialized onboard computer system (Oasis Program)
  • Update and maintain accurate fuel records of company fleet
  • Accurately report fuel records and temperatures on perishable loads
  • Complete and document accurate pre-trip analysis of yard equipment using tablets
  • Performing physical duties relevant to job requirements (standing/bending/lifting on railcars)
  • Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures and regulations
  • Carry out additional tasks as required 

Qualifications

  • Previous shunting experience is considered an asset
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Must be able to work on a rotating 2-week,12-hour shift schedule
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all elements (Varies day-to-day – Approximately 75% of shift will be spent outdoors)
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Fluent in English - Able to communicate clearly over the radio

MacCosham Inc. is looking for a full-time, permanent Tire Technician to join our growing team in Calgary, AB. The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for assisting in the trailer mechanic shop, repairing chassis, tire work and components.

The Role

  • Responsible for maintaining MacCosham equipment in a safe and cost-efficient manner
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing, including all fleet maintenance processes
  • Repairing trailers, containers, chassis, and other equipment
  • Repair or replace chassis components such as, glad-hands, and lights.
  • Repair or replace tires on chassis such as patches, valve stems, and retorques
  • Make repairs on units in a timely and safe manner while maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Assist other shop personnel with fulfilling their duties to increase overall shop productivity

The Role
